Immigration DNA Testing in Merced
AABB Accredited Immigration DNA Testing for Merced, CA Families
When documentary evidence isn’t enough to prove a biological relationship for an immigration visa, Immigration DNA Testing Services provide the accepted solution. At Fastest Labs of Merced, we work with fully AABB accredited and experienced laboratories to give Merced-area families a clear, guided path through the process. Whether you’re the petitioner here in California or helping a relative abroad take the next step, we’re here to make the U.S. side of the process straightforward.
Immigration DNA testing establishes proof of a biological relationship between a visa applicant and a U.S. relative, supporting the family-based immigration visa application. We’ve helped clients prove relationships with a parent, grandparent, sibling, or another relative already living in the U.S., and our certified collectors bring more than a decade of experience to every appointment.

How Immigration DNA Testing Works
The process involves two separate collections: one here in the U.S. at a FastestLabs accredited facility, and one abroad at a U.S. embassy or consulate. Here’s what to expect at each stage.
The Petitioner Collection
The petitioner, the U.S. relative sponsoring the visa application, schedules an appointment at our Merced facility. A DNA sample is collected via a cheek swab, a quick, non-invasive procedure that takes only moments. That sample is then sent for analysis at the main testing location.
The Visa Applicant Collection
Once the petitioner’s sample is submitted, the visa applicant schedules a DNA collection appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate in their country. The visa applicant must pay the required fee before that appointment and bring the payment receipt. Arriving without a receipt can result in the appointment being rescheduled.
At the embassy or consulate, the visa applicant needs a passport, a valid photo, and a receipt from the panel physician showing payment for the DNA collection. A cheek swab is collected and witnessed by consular officials to confirm accuracy, then sent to the FastestLabs facility in the U.S. for analysis alongside the petitioner’s sample.
Once results are available, the visa applicant can move forward with the next steps in the application process. Results are sent directly to the requesting U.S. Embassy, Consulate, or USCIS. Completing the DNA test does not guarantee visa issuance; that determination remains with the reviewing authority.
Why AABB Accreditation Is Required
USCIS and U.S. embassies and consulates only accept immigration DNA testing results from fully AABB accredited and experienced laboratories. Results from a non-accredited lab aren’t recognized, which can mean delays and added costs for your case.
The U.S. Department of State has cautioned consumers about labs that falsely claim AABB accreditation. Before proceeding with any provider, verify their accreditation on the official AABB website. At Fastest Labs of Merced, every immigration DNA test we facilitate goes through fully AABB accredited and experienced laboratories, and that applies to the entire process, not just the results report. Consular officers typically require results reporting 99.5 percent or greater certainty, and our laboratory partners meet that standard.
